How to calm your pet during festive season

For many pets, the season around Christmas and New Year’s Eve can be pretty stressful. During this time of the year there can be a lot of fireworks, fire crackers and loud noises, which can agitate and upset your pet.

  1. We are giving you some useful advice on what you can do to help your pets during this time:
  2. Don’t walk them during evening hours, when there is a high possibility of fireworks and firecrackers;
  3. Draw the blinds and curtains so you can muffle the lights and the sounds;
  4. Create a quiet, isolated space for your pet, where it can hide and feel safe;
  5. Make sure that all your doors are closed, so that your pet can’t escape if there is a sudden noise;
  6. Depending on your pet, sooth your pet by caressing or give your pet a space to find it’s comfort;
  7. Distract your pet with a toy or his favorite game, or even food.

Remember, if your pet has a really strong reaction to this loud noises and lights, you should definitely consult with a vet and follow his instructions.
