REGISTERING FOR REHOMING/ADOPTING A DOG/CAT

The quickest way to rehome is to start the process by filling our Questionnaire for interested Adopters, under the “Get Involved” Page, which then you need to send to our email: contact@pawesomenthusiasts.org . This way you tell us a bit about yourself, and which dog you’re interested in, so we could do appropriate analysis for the human-dog pairing.
After the Questionnaire, we’ll contact you for the further steps. Which are:
1. Home check –  one of our staff or our associates will do a home check by previously arranging that with you.
2. Signing a contract and paying a deposit – The new adopter is requested to sign a contract and pay a deposit of 150 GBP to the organization’s paypal account and with that the dog is reserved for you.

The transport and organization, as well as payment details are arranged on email conversation.

The fee for adopting a dog in the UK is 590 GBP. Out of those, 150 GBP is adoption fee that goes back to the charity and 440 GBP for the transport to the UK.

The above mentioned price includes:

1. All necessary vaccines (DHLP, anti-rabies)

2. Anti Flea treatment

3. Deworming treatment

4. Microchip

5. Passport

6. Vet check before transport

7. Documents for MK, Serbian, Bulgarian and UK freight company and customs fees

8. Transport, Macedonia to UK

9. Commercial Traces certificates for the travel

9. Spaying/Neutering of the dog (if the dog’s of age)

Here at Pawsome Enthusiasts, our aim is to match you with the best dog for you, and so the time it takes can really vary! It is possible to come in and leave on the same day with a dog, should we have seen everything we need. However, it may also take a few weeks, and in some cases months, for us to find the right dog for you. Once we do find them, you’ll be glad you waited for that perfect dog to come along!

YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES and BEFORE and AFTERs

Here at Pawsome Enthusiasts we match you up with a dog we feel would be best for you and your whole family. When we assess our dogs, we take into consideration any information we have from their previous owners and their behavior with us to determine what age of children we feel they would be suitable for.
Some of our dogs are not suited to living with children and should you have your heart set on a particular dog from our website that is sadly not right for your family, we will discuss this with you during your registration and do our best to find the right dog for all of you.

Should you be moving quite soon, we may recommend you wait until after you have moved and settled in before rehoming a new dog. This is because it can take up to several months for a rescue dog to completely settle in with its new home and family. If you’re moving soon, this change in your new dog’s environment can be very stressful for them.
You are still welcome to register now and continue with the next steps of finding the right dog for you after you’ve moved.

In the questionnaire form process we ask all our customers what property type they live in. Many of our dogs have happily gone to live with new owners at properties that are rented and we rehome to this type of property regularly. We treat all of our customers and dogs as individuals as we recognize that everyone’s circumstances are different. However, we need to make sure you have talked with the owner of the place of his consent of you having a pet at their place. A lot of the apartment owners have a NO-PET policy, and it’s important for us that you’ve talked this over with your landlord.

Not necessarily! During your registration, we will discuss details about your property and inform you if a home visit is required. Home visits help us to gather more information about the environment and location to help us find the right dog for you – but there are many people who go on to rehome from us without the need for a home visit.
The home visit, if required, will be discussed with you to find a convenient time and we aim to complete these within the following week or so after visiting one of our centers.

OTHER QUESTIONS

Yes you can! Many dogs enjoy the company of others and a big part of the assessments with our dogs is to determine whether we feel they would like to live in a home with another dog.
Once we think we have found the right dog to add to your family, you will be required to bring your dogs to the shelter where the dog you’re interested in resides, so that we can introduce them to each other and see if they’re compatible. This is important because, just like people, all dogs have their own personalities and they won’t always get on!
However, please be aware that whilst we will be as flexible as we can be with our rehoming criteria, if you have your heart set on a specific dog it still may be that we feel, based on their individual needs, that they are not suitable to live with another dog. If this is the case, we will discuss this with you during your registration and do our best to find the right dog to suit you and your current dog.

Every dog/cat is different and since most of them are rescued, some may have a specific character or be depressed at first. However, you need to give the pet some space and try to make it feel like home, slowly introducing the new lifestyle. It all depends on the dog/cat’s age. Generally, we’d say that for young pets it’ll be easier to wrap the idea of new home, and may be harder for older. Similarly, the older ones, have already established a bathroom habits, as opposed to the younger that need yet to be taught. However this is not always the case. Some pets need like a week or two for settling in, other may need up to 2-3 months. Make sure you give the pet its necessary time for getting used to the idea of a new home or having a home at all.
