Our Story

A girl was already fighting for the rights of the homeless dogs and cats on the streets of Skopje, but she couldn’t stand the divisions of the animal rights activists, and created a profile which should have been the link between those divisions, because in the end we are all fighting for the same cause. That profile quickly became popular because of the different aporoach to the problem. The first girl was Gabriela. Then, Natalija and Vesna came along. We were dealing with almost impossible mission, and guess what, we succeeded. Spartak was left to the local kill shelter to be euthanized but we took him out. The fight lasted several months, and more helpless animals were included on the way, because once you enter this type of an activism, there is no way out. Spartak is now finally happily adopted, healthy and stronger than ever. Everything was becoming overwhelming for only 3 people, and just when we were talking about how hard it gets, Anastacia wrote us a message on the official Facebook page, saying ‘Hey guys, I follow your work, and you are great.. So I made this online platform for monthly donors to help you out..’ We were extra super happy that finally someone realized what we are trying to do. We met with her and her brother Maxim, and they were perfectly fitting into the Pawsome strategy for making a real difference with alternative methods. We explained everything and quickly after that, the need for an official association knocked on the door. In September 2019, Pawsome Enthusiasts became an official association for animal welfare in North Macedonia. Dimitrij, Natalija, Anastacia, Maxim and Vesna, with the moral support from Gabriela are the first members of this now effective association with progressive ideas. Last but not least, Ana came along and brought our Instagram profile to life. Now, we all have a role in this small Pawsome world, and we are trying to settle our emotions because this is not that pawsome every time… And that makes us sad, but we are stronger together for those who will need help in future.

And we are promising one thing!

There wouldn’t be a time when we will start counting the animals as objects, we forever believe that every being on this lovely planet deserves their chance for life.
